Minister Hasani at the NATO Conference in Berlin: Albania is adopting a dynamic new approach in cyber security

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani in NATO’s Annual Cyber Security Conference, highlighted the importance of increasing intelligence sharing and fostering robust cooperation with allies to prevent cyber threats.

“After the unprovoked Iranian cyber-attacks last year, Albania has adopted a new dynamic approach in cyber security, by revising the existing legal framework, policies and directives” the Minister told.

Minister Hasani emphasized that the Albanian government is working on the establishment of the National Digital and Cyber Academy, which according to him is crucial in increasing awareness and responsiveness at the center of critical information structures.

“We aim to govern cyber security in a multidimensional way, from a sectorial into a global vision: First, by drafting a clear strategy to bridge expertise gaps, mainly through the creation of the National Digital and Cyber Academy” the chief diplomat stated.

The conference on cyber defence was organized for the first time to join efforts in the context of NATO Comprehensive Cyber Defence Action Plan, in view of the upcoming Washington Summit.
